Built in 1956, Raton Pass Inn is a classic example of the small town roadside motel. We are in the process of decorating each room with vintage items. You can choose to spend the night in the Matador Room, the Route 66, the Santa Fe Trail, the Sombrero Room, or any of ten other rooms. A free continental breakfast is included, the motel is pet friendly, and of course Wi-Fi is free.
The town of Raton has a historic downtown with lots of lovely old buildings, and you can still catch a movie at El Raton, which first opened its doors in 1930.
Amtrak’s Southwest Chief runs daily, Chicago to LA, with a stop in Raton–what better way to Travel Retro? We’ll even pick you up at the station.
Minutes from the motel are Sugarite Canyon State Park (ask to borrow a vintage picnic basket!), Capulin Volcano, dinosaur footprints, Folsom Man’s old haunts, a haunted hotel, and more cool stuff!
So come to New Mexico and hang out with us! We like old stuff, classic cars, Wanda Jackson, and *maybe* a little moonshine…how about you?
